Christopher Thompson, A former emergency room physician, who slammed on his brakes in front of two cyclist in order to "teach them a lesson," was sentenced to five years in prison. The incident happened on July 4, 2008. I wrote about it back then. You can read that post here.

Ironically, we had a similar road rage incident here in Atlanta very recently (also involving a doctor!) This particular MD got out at a stop light and punched a woman in the face (she wasn't driving fast enough for him, he later told the police). The thing that was troubling was not only the assault, but the fact that he assaulted her in front of her young children who were in the car. (Oh yes, and he is also a well known, successful OB/GYN here in Atlanta....)
AND, if that weren't bad enough, he contacted the victim after he bailed out of jail to "encourage" her (read: COERCE?) to drop the charges.
Bizarre similarities in these stories.....
