Today is the one year anniversary of becoming an Ironman. I was following the events of Ironman Arizona yesterday and got quite nostalgic. If you would like to read the race report, you can do so here.
I am a triathlete. I'm not a very good triathlete in the sense that I am not particularly good at any of the three disciplines that make up triathlon, but none-the-less, I am a triathlete.
I have learned that the most important thing in triathlon is persistence. Just keep going. When I talk about my experience of completing an ironman triathlon in 2008 there is usually someone who says, "I could never do that." It is true; they could not because they tell themselves that they could not. If a guy like me can finish an ironman, then almost anybody who is determined to do so can finish an ironman.
Being a triathlete is not who I am, but it is one of the things I do. Who am I? I am a Christian, an American, a husband and many other things too numerous to mention here.
