Thanksgiving is, perhaps, my favorite holiday. I think that it is wonderful that we, as a nation and as individuals, take time to give thanks. We all have much to be thankful for.
This year I am particularly thankful for Rango, our new dog, our new house, The Great Magnetic Wife, my family and friends and my health. Appreciating and being thankful for what one has is the key to happiness.
I am a triathlete. I'm not a very good triathlete in the sense that I am not particularly good at any of the three disciplines that make up triathlon, but none-the-less, I am a triathlete.
I have learned that the most important thing in triathlon is persistence. Just keep going. When I talk about my experience of completing an ironman triathlon in 2008 there is usually someone who says, "I could never do that." It is true; they could not because they tell themselves that they could not. If a guy like me can finish an ironman, then almost anybody who is determined to do so can finish an ironman.
Being a triathlete is not who I am, but it is one of the things I do. Who am I? I am a Christian, an American, a husband and many other things too numerous to mention here.
