If you would like to see how I'm doing on Sunday, you can go to Track an Athlete. To see coverage of the race, go to Race Coverage. Or go to Ironman.com and follow the links there. My race number is 1592.
I am a triathlete. I'm not a very good triathlete in the sense that I am not particularly good at any of the three disciplines that make up triathlon, but none-the-less, I am a triathlete.
I have learned that the most important thing in triathlon is persistence. Just keep going. When I talk about my experience of completing an ironman triathlon in 2008 there is usually someone who says, "I could never do that." It is true; they could not because they tell themselves that they could not. If a guy like me can finish an ironman, then almost anybody who is determined to do so can finish an ironman.
Being a triathlete is not who I am, but it is one of the things I do. Who am I? I am a Christian, an American, a husband and many other things too numerous to mention here.
